Sidetrack
Reach the next reservoir. Without drilling a new well.
Sidetrack and casing exit services let operators create a controlled junction from an existing wellbore to access a new target — saving millions in new-well construction costs, weeks of rig time, and significant hazard exposure.
What is a "sidetrack"?
When the trajectory of a well is compromised, or when an operator needs to access an additional reservoir nearby, the conventional answer has been to drill an entirely new well. Sidetrack services enable operators to mill a window through the existing well and deviate into a new trajectory from that point.
The result is a multilateral well: one wellbore serving multiple targets, built on the existing infrastructure. The savings in cost, time, and environmental footprint can be substantial.
Our solutions
Cased-hole whipstock
Sidetrack from an existing cased wellbore without pulling your completion. Our cased-hole whipstock systems deliver precise window placement with premium cutters built for durability and reduced trips.
Open-hole whipstock
Redirect your wellbore trajectory before casing is set. Our open-hole whipstock systems offer reliable anchoring and clean window exits to keep your sidetrack programme on schedule.
Section milling
Remove a full section of casing when your well demands it. Our section milling tools deliver consistent, controlled cuts with premium inserts to minimise trips and meet your abandonment or sidetrack objectives.
Pilot milling
Clean up the window and dress the whipstock face in a single run. Our pilot mills ensure a smooth, burr-free exit that protects your BHA and sets up the next phase of drilling without delay.
